Titane Movie Storyline

During a car ride, Alexia, a little girl, irritates her father. Her dad comes around just to reprimand her as she drops her seatbelt, triggering an automobile accident. Alexia had a titanium plate put to her head due to a skull injury. When she comes out of the surgery, she eschews her parents in favour of an intense reunion with their automobile.

Alexia worked as a starlet at an auto show as a grownup with a huge scar on the side of the face. Following Alexia in the store parking lot after a presentation, a male admirer confesses his love for her and forcefully kisses her; she suddenly brutally kills him with her enormous metallic pins. Alexia comes to the shower to hear a thumping from the showroom. She discovers that the automobile she modelled earlier has switched on by itself and enters it undressed, and ultimately climaxes.

Alexia is discovered to be a serial murderer who has slain a number of men and women in recent months. She continues to live with her parents, who do not seem to be aware of her involvement in the assaults and with whom she has a strained relationship.

Titane Movie Review

Titane can sometimes lack emotional weight, and it seems as though it might have benefitted from a deeper dive into Alexia’s home background and what drove her to become a serial murderer. Perhaps it would contribute to her and Vincent’s eventual relationship, giving the tone change a more natural flow. It would very probably compensate for Titane’s occasionally chilly and aloof demeanour as a character. Still, these are enthralling individuals, to the point that by the time Julia Ducournau finishes things up, bringing together numerous narrative threads, one is shocked and befuddled by preceding fear shifting to aberrant beauty, underlined by Jim Williams’ soundtrack, which is both ethereal and eerie. Julia Ducournau, a fearlessly daring provocateur, delivers a work of superb performance and workmanship, and she should be free to produce whatever film she wants for the rest of her life.
