Limbo Movie Storyline

set on a nameless piece of dirt in the Eastern Highlands. Hallways of sadness and abandoned homes. And the drabbiest grocery shop in the planet. A notice on the wall says, “Please do not urinate in the frozen section.” And that’s all there is to it. These unfortunate people have been sent to the earth’s natural most inhospitable location, where they are expected to, well, exist. “You know why they placed us out in the midst of with no where to destroy us,” one of them explains. It’s a cold, unfeeling rock.

Will Yam, a rookie police officer, just graduated from the police school. Will is teamed with veteran officer Cham Lau, who was recently restored on the police, due to a surge of serial homicides. The pair, however, is unable to solve the cases and instead creates a sequence of mishaps. Later, Cham re-encounters Wong To, a narcotic street urchin who previously ran over his wife and daughter, and his rage causes him to spiral out of control and assault her. Will misplaces his gun, which the serial murderer discovers. A catastrophe is looming as the murderer lurks around the city.

Limbo Movie Review

The movement or omission looms, the young singer whose family, who left Syria with him, are now struggling in Turkey. He’s always lugging an oud about with him, but he didn’t allow herself to play it. It’s a stumbling block. Someone remarks to him, “You go about like that briefcase is a grave for your spirit.” He is made to feel bad for abandoning his parents and lazy for abandoning his music during phone conversations with them after the island’s only phone box, which has no service in this Scottish purgatory.

Around the midway point, realism triumphs over humour, since these young guys realise that their good start in Britain may be limited. Even then, the tone shifts, and not necessarily in a cohesive manner, with the straighter sequences, the serious ones, and the sillier ones not always matching up. However, the lighter touches help to lift it above the bleakness of the circumstance. There is a sense of pessimism about it all, and with good cause. It’s a film that asks what we are when we’re not surrounded by buildings. It’s about mankind fighting its way through, people persevering in the face of adversity. Where even the tiniest rays of kindness seem to be gigantic.
