The first episode served more as a character and family dynamics introduction. Though subtly, it also addresses the existing preconceptions we now have. Maham is introduced to us in the opening scene. She is portrayed as a self-sufficient, independent, and intelligent lady who adores her husband and who supposedly enjoys a wonderful relationship with him. It becomes out that her husband Moiz is a crafty, vicious, and intelligent guy who has been misleading his trusting wife. In addition to not having a legitimate profession and being financially dependent on his wife, Moiz is also extremely controlling, nearly to the point of being abusive, which Maham is yet to recognise. The mother of Moiz is shown as an ordinary mother-in-law who has preconceived ideas about her daughter-in-law just because she works and provides food for the family.

Under Fahim Burney’s supervision, the Saima Chuadhry-written tale has been turned into a series. It illustrates the struggles a working woman faces in trying to manage her personal and professional lives.

Nadia really does her part justice. You might not agree with me, but I adore her. She has incredible screen presence! As Moiz, Faisal Rehman is amazing; his body language and facial emotions are spot-on.

My interest was piqued by the brief description of Taimoor Durrani, another character. I was intrigued by what was revealed about his past life and am looking forward to learning more about his relationship with Maham.
