AK vs AK Movie Storyline
The film begins with the lens of Yogita, a young and gorgeous filmmaker who is recording Anurag Kashyap for a documentary. Sucharita Tyagi interviews Kashyap and Anil Kapoor for a MAMI event. Following a question from the audience regarding whether the director or the actor is more essential, the two begin bickering and denigrating one other’s careers, ending with Kashyap throwing a glass of water in Kapoor’s face. Kashyap faces a massive controversy as a result of this, with other cinema stars severing links with him and withdrawing from his projects. Yogita offers him an idea while he sits in his room, infuriated.
On Christmas Eve, which also happens to be Kapoor’s birthday, Kashyap pays a visit to his set with Yogita and pitches him a fresh plot about a crazed director who kidnaps the daughter of an elderly actor. Kapoor is initially unconcerned until he learns that his daughter, Sonam, has been kidnapped by Kashyap, who wants to film his genuine responses while on the hunt. Kashyap gives him ten hours to locate Yogita and gives him four rules: he can’t involve anyone else or contact the cops, all phone conversations must be made on loudspeaker, and Yogita’s camera must always be turned on.

Their feud began when Kapoor, at the height of his acting career, abruptly refused to cooperate with an unknown up-and-coming director. Today, Kapoor is eager to cooperate, but Kashyap feels it is time for retaliation. He wants the senior actor to recognise the power transfer, but he has no intention of doing so. An altercation breaks out between the two during a live event, and things quickly spiral out of control.
Vikramaditya proposes an intriguing concept. He gets two individuals to abandon their professional selves and play what they’re famous for. Kashyap for pursuing controversy with his obnoxious remarks, and Kapoor for being unashamedly conceited. Their off-screen image is skilfully employed in the spoof, and the heroes are gracious enough to accept it. The opening makes you hopeful for a twisting satire in the vein of the Coen Brothers. The crisp lettering, however, is just temporary.
The picture quickly devolves into a tiresome hostage situation designed to make us suspicious. However, the expletives become monotonous, and the blows lose their punching power. It all seems like a raucous planned reality show that is struggling to keep viewers’ attention. As Kapoor races against time in a Liam Neeson-like Taken persona to rescue his daughter, neither excitement or anxiety is elicited. Kashyap is reduced to a mute observer who sometimes emits a strained nasty chuckle.
