Without the lens and the characters understanding the complexities of the game properly, a cricket drama would be a failure. While cinematography Aseem Mishra does an outstanding job of making the action just on field large portions of 83 take place in a cricket stadium – feel real and affectionate, the performers do not let the technical ability challenges of portraying truthful batsmen and bowlers intimidate them.

There is no disputing that 83 is the film it is due of Ranveer Singh’s outstanding centre performance. In fact, calling it a performance would be a misnomer. The principal actor is completely immersed in the role and, leads on front. For him, there really is no time for tinkering. He embraces the position with zeal and faces its challenges.
