Typewriter Web Series Storyline

Sameera, Satyajit, and Devraj are three kids in the novel who reside in Bardez, Goa. The curious buddies establish a ghost club and choose their first mission—looking for a ghost at an ancient haunted villa in their neighbourhood. Their interest is sparked by an ancient tale from a book called The Ghost of Sultanpore about an elderly man who passed away. The mystery surrounding the title typewriter, which appears to have a vendetta against anybody who tries to remove it from the mansion, is at the centre of the narrative. The tale of previous inhabitants, whose story jumps between decades, complicates things even further. The plots of the webseries also include sudden deaths, Sultanpore’s history, and supernatural abilities.

The origins of the ghost and the villa are explored in greater detail in later episodes, although this is a much less interesting plot line than the current-day horrors that the supernatural spirit is unleashing. A plot that is overly packed and teases more strands than it can adequately resolve is created when a mystery figure dubbed Fakeer and a forthcoming lunar eclipse are added to the mix. The storyline suffers and the tempo slows down as the tale goes backwards and sideways. The tone of a few hilarious scenes in the middle seems off, notably a clichéd side plot involving a hard-of-hearing doctor.

Sujoy Ghosh’s background in the thriller genre is helpful in this aspect as Typewriter keeps the story surprises coming even though it lacks shivers. Palomi Ghosh, who plays Jenny in a dual role as both the haunter and the haunted, is brilliantly enigmatic. Purab Kohli, who is typically attractive, manages to pass for a dowdy policeman who could use a haircut and a shave. The kids add some amusing moments to the show, and Aarna Sharma’s portrayal of the brat pack’s leader is endearing.
