The television series High Priestess is, pardon the pun, caught in the middle of two universes. It isn’t a straight-up supernatural thriller. Every episode does contain a jump scare now and then, depending on the viewer’s imagination and desire for such cheap pleasures. A seasoned aficionado of supernatural and horror movies, however, would find the majority of the episodes to be rather mediocre at best.
However, High Priestess isn’t a drama that specifically provokes contemplation. Yes, each of the stories in the collection makes an effort to convey one or more morals, but this effort is not carried to its logical conclusion.
