Radhe Lal Shukla comes from a wealthy but uneducated household in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. His controlling and arrogant non-biological father Gajodhar, embarrassed by his illiteracy, picks district-topper Krishna Dubey from the adjacent town of Malihabad as his wife.
