The story’s main strength is that it develops throughout, even while it jumps back and forth in time. After that, it proceeds along steadily with a few twists and turns. Beginning with a murder that is going to occur, Indori Ishq quickly moves into a section when Ritwik is shown to be in a genuinely gloomy environment. He channels his inner Kabir Singh by portraying a depressed youth who drowns his life in drugs and alcohol, but there is also a Dev D vibe when he meets his Chandramukhi in the guise of amiable broker/hooker Donna Munshi.
He has a calm demeanour and the proceedings are made fascinating and dramatic by the inclusion of coarse language. At this point, I’ll concede that everything looks somewhat pointless in the grand scheme of things since, given the team’s primary focus, just a touch of it would have made the plot just as engaging. Thus, the use of profanity in almost every conversation and the need that each lady remove her clothing appeared forced.
