Kirti Kulhari’s portrayal of a judgmental and broken-hearted single mother trapped in an unsatisfactory situation generates sympathy and is sympathetic to a degree. As the passionately outspoken and rabbit journalist, Sayani Gupta is often too loud and aggressive. She conveys her dissatisfaction nicely, yet it all sounds a bit contrived at times. Maanvi Gagroo’s portrayal of a befuddled youngster is both irritating and amusing; she’s a brilliant stand-up comic but not nearly as believable as an adult seeking clarity in life.
Siddhi is a stand-up comedian trying to find her unique voice while also attempting to reunite with her irritated father. Her emancipated gender orientation seems to give her a new sense of self-assurance, which extends to her work life as well. Maanvi has blossomed as a performer, making Siddhi as endearing as she is while also portraying her as a confident woman with fresh autonomy. There’s no getting around the fact that the second season has issues and inadequacies. It becomes spooky at times, unpleasant at others, and repetitious at times. However, the lives of the four completely fleshed-out women have given us the strength to rise beyond our flaws. It doesn’t feel like a compromise in the end. We emerge more compassionate and less judgemental as a result of our involvement.
