Ekattor Web Series Review

Stories about a country’s independence may be much more than just a constant stream of information. In a rare effort, Ekattor fictionalises a number of events that occurred in Dhaka during the Bangladesh Liberation War. The main characters, who come from various social classes, are deftly brought together and enable you to observe the story from several angles. The plot strongly emphasises their relationships and psychological struggles rather than treating them as flat cardboard cutouts that are only driven by a single cause or set of views.

Despite portraying West Pakistan as a staunch opponent of East Pakistan’s aspiration for secession, the show’s perspective is obvious. Despite their imperfections, the residents of Dhaka are presented as a good people who often feel victimised.
