• Bronson served in the United States Army Air Corps as a bomber rear gunner during World War II. He had several odd jobs before entering the film industry in the early 1950s, playing minor supporting roles as henchmen, thugs, and other “heavyweights.”

This role caught the attention of mainstream critics, playing as an Irish-Mexican killer in The Magnificent Seven (1960) and the claustrophobic tunnel expert in The Great Escape (1963), played quite a bit in a small town south of Ruche.

• A commando who became a prisoner in This Property Is Condemned (1966) and The Dirty Dozen (1967).Despite being popular with audiences and critics, Bronson failed to land high-profile roles in his major Hollywood productions.

• His recognition among European filmmakers, especially in France and Italy, has led to a string of successful lead roles on the continent. He played a vengeful harmonica-playing gunslinger in Time in the West (1968), a failed detective in Rider on the Rain (1970) and The Valache Papers. (1972) where he played Mafia defector Joe Valaci.

• He co-starred with Alain Delon in Rami (1968) and The Red Sun (1971). The success of these films proved his prowess as a strongman and catapulted him to international fame.
