Cameron Green has been playing cricket since he was a child. When he was 10 years old, he began playing cricket with the Subiaco-Floreat Cricket Club in the under-13s competition. He then signed a rookie deal with the WACA when he was 16 years old.

In the 2016-17 season, he played for Western Australia in the under-19 National League, where he guided his side to victory by taking 20 wickets in only eight games. He also batted 82.00 throughout the event, scoring 164 runs.

Green signed a rookie contract with the Western Australian Cricket Association (WACA) before of the 2016/17 Sheffield Shield season, owing to his 82-run-per-inning average and 20 wickets in eight matches in the under-19s national competition.
