The story’s tedium detracts from Karanvir Bohra’s admirable endeavour to exercise his imagination in Bhanwar, which is nevertheless a decent effort nonetheless. The lockdown confines the story to a compartmentalised space. Thus, telling a complicated tale with the fewest resources, space, and people becomes a challenge. As a consequence, Bhanwar seems to be just going through the motions of developing a story in order to finish with eight episodes, which is a manageable number.
Ranvir Makhija is played by Karanvir Bohra, who gives a strong performance. With his seamless on-screen presence and acting talent, he takes up most of the frames. Kanika Makhija as played by Priya Banerjee might pass. Mantra, who plays rogue policeman Rodriguez in Bhanwar, is the only other actor who makes an impression in the movie just a little bit.
