Robert Wagner is an American stage, film and television actor. He is best known for appearing in the television shows It Takes a Thief (1968–1970), Switch (1975–1978) and Hart to Hart (1979–1984). • Wagner took an interest in acting, and after failing a screen test directed by Fred Zinnemann, Albert R. Broccoli stood in for him in his film Teresa (1951).

• He made his uncredited film debut in Happy Years (1950). Signed by Agent Henry Wilson and signed with 20th Century Fox.

• Wagner’s first Fox film was The Halls of Montezuma (1951), a World War II film. Wagner was in a supporting role, starring Richard Widmark. The studio then had him play a similar role in another war film, The Frogmen (1951). The cast also included Jeffrey Hunter, another young man signed to the studio Wagner often worked with.

• Let’s Make It Legal (1951) was a comedy in which Wagner once again supported an old star, in this case Claudette his Colbert. 

• After a cameo appearance in Mardi Gras (1958), Wagner supported Bing Crosby and Debbie Reynolds in 1959’s Say One for Me.In an attempt to boost his career, Wagner starred in MGM’s All the Fine Young Cannibals (1960) with his then-wife Natalie Wood (they married in 1957) The film was a flop.

• In January 1961, Wagner and Wood founded their own company, Rona Productions, taking his first two letters from the name. Rona signed a three-picture deal with Columbia Pictures for Wagner’s services.

• He was also contracted to make another film at Fox, namely Solo, the story of a jazz drummer directed by Dick Powell, or Comancheros starring Gary Cooper. 

• He was a regular on the BBC/Universal POW drama Colditz (1972-1974). He reunited with McQueen alongside Paul Newman and Faye Dunaway in the disaster film The Towering Inferno, released the same year.

• Wagner’s role was relatively small, but it was a big hit. Wagner’s film career got a boost after his role in the series Mike Myers starring Austin Powers Spy Parody.
