Radhe To 83 , Bollywood update: what you need to know about upcoming Hindi films

From Ranveer Singh’s 83 to Salman Khan’s Radhe, here are the latest updates of all the big releases that were stalled due to the novel coronavirus epidemic.

The Several Films had already announced before Novel Coronavirus coming to the worldwide. Currently, the shooting and release of several major films worldwide has been halted in the wake of the deadly virus. In India, films like Ranveer Singh’s 83 and Salman Khan’s Radhe could not be released on the scheduled date.

Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh has given the latest updates on all the big releases, which bear the brunt of the novel coronavirus virus epidemic.


Ranveer Singh, in the role of former Indian cricket team captain Kapil Dev, was slated to hit Kabir Khan’s screen on April 83. But due to the closure and lockdown of all theaters, the film was not released on a fixed date. While the film’s shooting is complete, some production work remains. Giving an update on 83, Taran Adarsh wrote, “# 83TheFilm, filming the entire edit, starring #RanveerSingh and the final finale mix remains pending post-production.”


Like every year, this Eid was booked for the release of Salman Khan’s Radhe. But Covid-19 had some other plans for the film. Directed by Prabhudheva, Radhe also featured Disha Patani, Randeep Hooda and Jackie Shroff in pivotal roles. According to Taran Adarsh, the shooting of the film is not yet complete. He wrote, “Starring #Rhehe, #SalmanKhan and #DishaPatani: The film is * not complete * yet filming two songs and some sequencing pending dubbing, VFX, post-production work also pending (sic).”


Starring Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani, Lakshmi Bum stars the actor in the role of a transgender. The film was scheduled to release on May 22, but now, in the current scenario, it does not appear that the film will be released in theaters in the coming days. Adarsh wrote, “#LaxmmiBomb, starring #AkshayKumar and #KiaraAdvani: Completely filmed … Complete edit … The remaining post-production works [dubbing, background score, VFX etc. are pending (sic).”


David Dhawan had a remake of his 1994 comedy film of the same name, which was to hit the screens on May 1. Post-production could not be completed due to the ongoing lockdown when the film was released a few months ago. Adarsh wrote, “# CoolieNo1, starring #VarunDhawan and #SaraAliKhan: Filming complete … Editing and dubbing complete … VFX almost complete … Post-production work [mixing, DI) pending (sic).”


Directed by Shoojit Sircar, Gulabo Sitabho was not released on the scheduled date of 17 April. Starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Amitabh Bachchan, the film’s shooting and post production are complete. The trade analyst wrote, “#GulaboSitabo, #AmitabhBachchan and #AyushmannKhurrana: complete shooting and post-production complete … first copy out (sic).”

While the scheduled releases of the films were postponed, there were reports that the producers of some of these films are considering releasing the films on OTT platforms. However, no official confirmation has yet been made by the manufacturers.
